A rental car is the best bet. I am not sure of the public transportation in Siesta Key/Sarasota area. I do know there are cabs. Yet the fee would not be cost effective. Sarasota/Brandenton Airport does have commercial flights arriving and departing. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Point of Rocks - Crescent Beach by vhasouth On the edge of Crescent Beach is a place called "Point of Rocks". We were told that this is a wonderful place to snorkel. There's supposed to be a good variety of tropical fish. When we were there the surf was too rough to try snorkeling. But the water was so clear I couldn't resist this picture. Yes, there is 1 guy standing on the rocks fishing. I'm not sure how he was doing though! Leave a Comment Address: Crescent Beach

Great Egret by zrim Siesta Key is home to a good number of wading birds. They seem to live easily amongst the ever-growing population of perople. This great white egret was strolling across the front lawn of a modest home as my dad and I took our morning walk. The egret is a flesh eater and favors fish, frogs, insects and even small mammals. It is a very large bird that reaches a height of three and a half feet. Leave a Comment

Bike Surfing @ Crescent Beach by vhasouth While at Crescent Beach we saw this guy literally riding his bike as hard as he could into the surf. He would keep pedaling until he would fall off his bike, then he would get off, push the bike back to the sand, hop back on and do it again!! Leave a Comment

Sunset on the Key by HotSpotJ For the romantics and photographers alike, a sunset on the key is a must. No two sunsets are the same, I make it a point to get on the beach every night about 20 minutes before sundown. Leave a Comment

Drumline by HotSpotJ Every Sunday at sunset there is a group of people that set up a drumline with dancers and guitar players and all sorts of interesting people. Leave a Comment Address: Siesta Key Public Beach access

Siesta Key by HotSpotJ The number one reason people stay here is for the gorgeous beach. It has the finest sand in the world due to a large amount of quartz just off the coastline, and that along with the soothing sound of the Gulf, it is great just to relax all day and work on your tan. When I lived here I took a large float out, a couple of beers, and just let stress solve itself. Leave a Comment
