I vant to suck your blood.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If you're not used to a lot of sun, you'll need to apply sunscreen often -- unless your idea of a nice tan is fire engine red. Locals can often spot tourists a mile away by their brand-new 'Florida' gear and peeling sunburns. The ozone layer is thinning, so be prepared...

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Mosquito repellent is a must if you'll be outside in the evening/night, especially in the summer or out in nature. But for some unknown reason, 'skeeters are not very common in Ybor City. Perhaps the vile combination of bad smells and bad music keeps them away, or maybe it's the high average blood alcohol level which discourages the little vampires...

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Don't bring non-essential items to the shore at the Pinellas beaches. There are very few places to stash stuff while you're in the water, and everybody knows the ol' 'hide the wallet in the shoe' trick.

Sunscreen!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The summer months here are hot and humid! It is also rainy season in July and August. Sometimes it can rain all day but usually it's just afternoon shows. Bring an umbrella!

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Try to bring an umbrella or some sort of protection to the beach. The UV rays are harsh and you will burn quickly. Trust me on this one. I am dark complected and the sun can be get pretty harsh.

Miscellaneous: It’s especially important to protect yourself against sunburn. Don’t underestimate the strength of the sun’s rays down here, even in the middle of the winter.

A: It's either fly, rent a car, get a ride, or take the bus. Bus is cheaper (http://greyhound.com/).

Yup, this is Tampa.

Tampa's a nice city; it's like Reno only without the legalized prostitution. Or the bright lights. Or the Conway Twitty Museum. Well, actually, it's not like Reno at all.
