Raymond James Stadium: Where the Bucs play ball
My oldest son is a big Buccaneers fan, so while in town, he and I wanted to drive by the team's home turf, Raymond James Stadium. Located along busy Dale Mabry Highway, not too far from the airport, we found the Bucs' distinctive stadium. I drove around all sides trying to find the best vantage point for a picture. I found an open entrance gate on the northeast side, so I drove in far enough to get great view from the van. From our position we could see the masts of the stadium’s iconic pirate ship and the outline of the pirate village that stretches across the top of the north end zone. Looming over everything was an enormous print of the team’s skull and crossed swords logo emblazoned across the back of the scoreboard. I would love to actually watch a game here one day, as I think it is one of the most interesting stadiums in all of sports.

Tampa Bay Bucs at Raymond James Stadium
Raymond James Stadium was completed in 1998 and is home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, University of South Florida Bulls, and the New Year’s Day Outback Bowl. It is located north of downtown just across the street from Yankee's Legends Field. The stadium was built at a cost of $170 million and it seats 66,000.
I attended the Bucs game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010. This was almost a home game for the Steelers with a huge crowd in Black and Gold, waving Terrible Towels. The Steelers manhandled the Bucs, winning 38-13, while rushing for over 200 yards. Charlie Batch looked like a Hall of Famer in this game, throwing for three touchdowns in his first start in three years.
After the game we happened upon the area where the Steelers walk out to their buses, and we got to see Charlie Batch, Troy Polamalu, Chris Kemoeatu, Mike Wallace and others.
