Channelside, Tampa

My girlfriends and I enjoyed this area. We went to see Friday the 13th on the IMAX screen at the Channelside movies. When we came out of the theater there was a band playing in the center. Oh, and there were pirates walking around. There was not a pirate festival...so I am not sure what they were doing. Nothing much surprises me though after living in Key West though. Do you realize how many pirates I see a day here?

Channelside is a fairly new area in Tampa. It's close to downtown and is where the cruise ships dock. The cool thing is that there are quite a few good restaurants and shops right at Channelside but the really cool thing is the trolley car that can take you from Channelside to the Florida Aquarium and then all the way to Ybor City. It's a must if you only have a day or so to sightsee in Tampa.

the channel side shopping and entertainment area is located between the st. pete times forum and the florida aquarium. this recently developed complex offers numerous restaurants, bars, and shops just east of downtown tampa. a worth while stop when visiting the aquarium or visiting the st. pete times forum.

Channel side is close to the cruise ship ports, the Florida aquarium and a trolley ride from the Ybor historic district. Channel side is a man made, brand new entertainment districts. Has a movie and IMAX theaters, restaurants, clubs and shops. A great place for a couple to go out for the evening.
