    Busch Gardens

Okay, so a lot of people LOVE freaking Busch Gardens, but I really can't stand it. From the road, it's a freaking eye sore of metal tubing and bright colours. Inside it's not much better. The details of the place are cartoonish representations of Africa that - if I were from Africa - I might find semi-insulting. Also, I hear that they are not that nice to their animals or workers, but what company is nowadays?

Fun Alternatives: If you want to see animals, you are better off going to Lowry Park Zoo.
If you want to do something until you puke, grab a friend's arm and spin in circles.

    Canoe Outpost

Located at the Little Manatee State Park. This company isn't organized very well and the kayaks they have to rent are not very comfortable. The service was not very friendly and they promote the trip as a great chance to see Manatees and other Florida wildlife. All we saw were a bunch of turtles and a couple of birds and all in all it wasn't a very fun experience.

Unique Suggestions: take your time, your arms will be extremely sore by the end due to the poor kayak rentals

Fun Alternatives: Go to the Canoe Escape at the Hillsborough River. Here is their website. It is a MUCH better experience and you can see TONS of Alligators, varieties of birds, turles, snakes and plant life. Plus, the kayaks are actually comfortable.

    Here is their website:

I first attended an evening at the "Amphitheater" night club in Ybor City in December 2003 and was very disappointed. It has always been billed as Tampa's "premier" night spot and upon entering I was not impressed. They had a rotating dance floor that seemed to jerk itself around... after the entertainment value of that wore off you are left with a sense of mediocracy in what was supposed to be a grandeur experience.

    Unique Suggestions: Have fun!

Fun Alternatives: I would suggest Hyde Park Cafe in Hyde Park or the Blue Martini at the International Mall.
