on April 10, 2003If you come unprepared to the US buy a prepaid card at you can find these in almost any shop in the US or get them from a machine. But beware of the hidden charges these card might have read the fine lines.
We us a calling (credit) card it can be used from payphones, private phones and hotel phones (beware most hotels charge you for using their phone even when it's a free number look for this in the directory in the hotel). With this card you call a free number and then your card number after this you can call home at a much nicer rate you would get elsewhere. We have used a dutch card but this one is discontinued. We now use a card from Primus Telegroup.
The card itself is free no annual fees you'll only pay when you use it.
If you know a cheaper way to call from the US to the Netherlands please let us know so we can switch.
