Favorite thing: An air boat ride, pontoon boat, kayak, the beach, a drive to the quaint town on the island, McKee Botanical Art Museum exhibit or Riverside Theater live entertainment. Surf at Sebastian Inlet where there is also a state park for camping. Have cocktails at Captain Hiram's sand bar, lunch on the ocean at Waldo's at the Driftwood, gelato at Rita's, custard at Abbotts.

The beaches are lovely, wide and have free parking. There is little traffic. There are many restaurants, many chains and many local.

Fondest memory: Stay at the Driftwood if you like quaint, rustic, the Caribbean Court if you like upscale and Gloria Estefan's Costa de'Este if you want a spa experience. I stayed at the Driftwood before moving here, right on the ocean and the roar of the ocean all night was delightful.

    Bridges to Vero Beach

Favorite thing: There are 2 main bridges to get on to Vero Beach, they are not to far apart as you can see. They take you over the inner coastal ways and the marina. The farthest on in the photo is just above South Beach and the one I'm on will take you to the heart of Vero Beach if you hang a left.

    Beach access

Favorite thing: If you go down the side streets you will come across serveral other beach access points. These points of access tend to have less poeple than the main access, which is a much more peaceful day at the beach. The parking if free but there is only about 5 or 6 spots at these locations.

Beach access on the main drag

Favorite thing: This is the beach access near the end of the main strip. Just park on the right side and your at the beach or a short walk to all the shopping and good restaurants.

    Main drag

Favorite thing: This is the main road along Vero Beach heading in toward all the shopping stores and restaurants. Traffic wasn't to bad, but it was still busy. Very cool beach town.
