Every weekend there are live bands at the landing. Generally there is also some activity going on at the hotels downtown so you can likely see a dance/cheerleading competition or some other event .. there are several restraunts and bars to choose from most if not all with balcony seating (hooters, American Grill ($4-46oz Margaritas) but come early when the music starts the balcony seats fill up. There is also seating in the courtyard by the stage and during the summer days the water holes keep the kids busy. You can always see kids running thru the water shoots. The landing is beautiful and over loooks the St. Johns River. You can take the ferry across the river which to the River City Brewing Company reasonably (about $2.50/person)

After a long walk on the beach you can walk across the street to Caribbee Key. Thats what we did and if your a fan of live reggae you wont be dissappointed. Sunny Caribbean at Atlantic Beach has it for you every Friday and Saturday night. The food is wonderful and the drinks are reasonable, but for $5 cover you can see the live band. The atmosphere in this restraunt/bar is electric you can dance or you can cozy up in a booth and just enjoy the music.

When your traveling in Jacksonville, many people visit the Jacksonville Landing for the nightlife. We have a ton of things to choose from and most weekends there is live music in the square and several nightclubs and of course the beautiful view of the river.

The only drawback is you have to park when you get there and my tip would be DONT BE CHEAP. Pay to park in the lots parking on the street will make you a target for auto break ins.

LADIES if you are like most and you leave your purse in the trunk put it in there before you leave the house/hotel and not when you park downtown. Many breakins have occured because someone saw a purse go into the trunk. (Including me!!)
