Red Reef Park consists of a beautiful beach, playground, shady picnic area and artificial reef (created from limestone).
It's not that crowded, the sand is nice, there are lifeguards, there are showers to shower off after your swim, there are clean bathrooms, a cool boardwalk along the ocean for beautiful ocean views.
We had a lovely picnic here and a beautiful walk down the beach. The water was a gorgeous shade of blue.
Admission to the park is $16 per carload on weekdays, $18 per carload on weekends. And it's worth it for such nice facilities and such a well-kept beach area.

delray beach is a very nice resort town located south of west palm beach off of I-95. in downtown delray atlantic ave. is lined with upscale stores, excellent restaurants, and a number of bars. atlantic ave. is well worth a visit in the west palm beach area. for more information about delray beach see my delray beach page.

manalapan beach is a very nice beach located just south of west palm beach near the town of lantana. the town of manalapan offers a large public parking lot next to the ritz carlton resort with metered parking. a very good beach option in the west palm area.

city place is a residental, shopping, and entertainment development located off of okeechobee blvd. in downtown west palm beach. city place has a large sellection of stores, restaurants and bars. a very nice palce to visit in downtown west palm beach. for a directory of shops and restaurants see the attached website.

the norton museum of art is one of the best fine art museums in florida. the permanent exhibition has an excellent collection of american, chinese, and european paintings and sculpture. the norton museum also has traveling exhibitions from museums from all over the world. for those interested in fine art the norton museum should not be missed on a visit to the palm beach area. see the attached web site for admission and times.

singer island is another beach option near west palm beach. to get to singer island take I-95 north to blue heron blvd. take blue heron east about three miles to singer island. in central singer island there is a beach access with free parking.

delray offers a very nice public park and a number of parking spaces for beach access. at delray beach it is much easier to find a parking space than in palm beach. delray offers one of the nicest beaches in southeast florida.

the palm beach zoo is located in dreher park south of downtown west palm beach. this 23 acre zoo has over 1,400 animals on display in a tropical setting. a great place to take children when in the west palm beach area.
