The Alexander H. Stephens State Historic Park commemorates the life of Stephens the Vice President of the Confederacy. In 1842, he was elected to the U. S. House of Representatives for Georgia, then he was Vice President of the Confederacy from 1861 to 1865. He was a small man but was well-known for his strength of character. The park has a nice museum, horseback riding areas, hiking trails and camping areas. Admission is $2.75 to $4.
