Although this was a hazey rainy day the views were still just beautiful. From the parking lot at the Project management office it's just a 5 munite walk to the top for views like this. It's well worth the trip!

This is the Lake Allatoona Operations Management office which has a small museum inside and plenty of history about the lake and the Dam. You can go in to just get cooled off or look around. They have an 8 minute or so movie to watch about the area and it's history, the indians, the first settlers and the Civil War. You also can find many booklets on things to do at the lake, boater safety tips and regulations and many displays to check out about the animal life, fish, the building of the dam and much more.

Terry's uncle Bill was kind enough to take this great photo of Terry and I with the lake and mountains behind us! Great job uncle Bill, thanks! It was so peaceful up there, no one else was around, the birds were singing and almost 360 views. You may want to take a picnic lunch.

    Picture with a view!

The boat you see with the big long white streak behind it, that boat was very fast and very loud and it didn't really look to me that he was being very safe about it either. Look how close he got to this boat which is a pontoon boat, you know the wake from that cigar boat musta hurt! But any way please be more mindful of other boaters Cruising at this SPEED.

    Speed boats have big wakes!

Lake Allatoona is over 12k acres which adds up to some good fishin', so grab you boat if you have one and head to the lake. We have heard from several people that the fishing is great up there. Makes me want to grab my fishin' rod and head up there.

Equipment: Bring your own boat, fishin' stuff and go!
