Me and a Crawfish

Aces is a neighborhood bar (though not my neighborhood bar, sadly) that caters to local clientele. They have amazing drink specials and very colorful service, so if you're looking for something laid back and a strong drink for a good price - check it out.

Thursday nights are Team Trivia nights so don't expect speedy service if you're not prepared to stay the two hours for trivia.

Also, throughout the summer they're known to throw FREE Crawfish/Seafood boils about once a month (usually a Sunday afternoon).

Dress Code: Casual - these are locals.

DRAGON!

Little Five is a good place to see an interesting cross-section of people. There are artsy hipsters as well as the preppy spill-over from the VA-Highlands crowd. Nobody is out of place here. Lots of good eats (Corner Tavern, Vortex, Porter, El Myr) and interesting drinking holes (please see any of the aforementioned good eats for interesting drinking holes).

Very colorful Halloween parade every year (please see picture).

Dress Code: Nothing is off limits, but don't overdress.

Live music Tuesday-Sunday. I think they closed this place but it used to rock - maybe a new place took it over.

A: No, most of the shopping has moved out of Downtown, unfortunately. It's a fairly easy MARTA trip up to Buckhead or to Lenox Square though.
