Southern cooking of the black variety (also know as soul food). Food is served cafeteria style. You start on the right and get your drink (sweetened iced tea if you want the true southern experience), tray and silverware. Then tell the server what you want. Pay at the end of the line.

Favorite Dish: Fried Chicken with yams and hoecakes (which are like flat cornbread)

Son's Place
For some of the best soul food in Georgia, stop by Son's Place. The staff is ridiculously friendly, the fried chicken is perfectly greasy, the red beans and rice are brilliant, the cornbread exquisite, and the banana pudding... perfect.

A: No, most of the shopping has moved out of Downtown, unfortunately. It's a fairly easy MARTA trip up to Buckhead or to Lenox Square though.
