I love to find places who don't try to be all things to all people. TDS has a tight menu of great tasting food at great prices. I was the 2nd customer in the door yesterday at 11 a.m. sharp. It took a minute to get the lay of the land. I had never been in the place before (We've just observed the long lines from one of my other favorite Atlanta eateries, the Star Provisions deli counter.) and now I know what all the fuss is about.
From the clever "Eschew Obfustication" T-shirt on the guy who took our order right down to the squeaky-clean concrete floor, this was a great restaurant experience.
Easy and welcoming, all three stores are a great way to eat good food, visit with friends, and not spend a boatload of money. They serve a nice meld of Southern and Mexican food.
Would that be called GA-Tex?
No need to dress up, either.
Favorite Dish: The Westside Margarita is fabu. Excellent iced tea. Fish tacos are reliable and not fishy, shrimp corn chowder great, collard greens good, salad simple but delicious, green sauce better than the red. Good, crsip chips which are hard to find around here. Shall I go on?
The food is spectacular. The restaurant is one of a kind. The service is horrible. Typically you have to wait in a line to order and then seat yourself afterwards. The upside to this place though is that the food is amazing.
Favorite Dish: Fried Chicken Tacos- they sound a bit gross but the special sauce they use on it is to die for.
