    Burger King: Quick and Easy

by grayfo Written May 27, 2010

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Just checked into hotel, 80 miles to Heathrow, 9 hour 40 minute flight, 40 miles from Atlanta. I’m tired and hungry; all I need is a quick fix before going to bed. Just around the corner from my hotel is Burger King, just what the doctor ordered. It may not be the healthiest meal on the planet but the Breaded Chicken Strips and Fries are the same anywhere.

    May 2010

Favorite Dish: 9 Piece Breaded Chicken Strips and Fries, with large Diet Coke $5.39 ($5.77 including taxes).

Chick-fil-A: As long as you like Chicken

by grayfo Written Jul 20, 2009

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

MacDonald’s, Burger King Clone whose gimmick is chicken. Nuggets, Strips, Burgers all made with chicken. The Fries are of a lattice type with skins on. The company plays the Healthy Eating game by using only lean whole-breast chicken, fresh vegetables and cooking in peanut oil. To be honest the meal I had was very nice and the service could not be faulted.

    April 2009

Favorite Dish: Chick-n-Strips – 4 pieces of chicken breast marinade in seasoning and Waffle Potato Fries cooked oil peanut oil. With Diet Coke $6.88.

Every time I go into Haru Ichiban (mostly for lunch) almost everyone is speaking Japanese (a good sign!) They have really fresh and tasty sashimi and sushi, as well as specials such as teriyaki salmon (one of my faves!), eel, and other Japanese specialities. They have a full bar and delicious sakis

Mon-Sun dinner 6-10 (fri and sat until 10:30)
If in the area (an Atlanta suburb) definitely check this place out-----in a strip shopping center off Pleasant Hill Rd

Favorite Dish: Sashimi lunch special (includes miso soup and salad)

Saigon Cafe: Best Pho in Duluth

by dustmon Updated Jun 10, 2010

Saigon Cafe's Duluth location is another favorite lunch spot when I am in this suburb of Atlanta. The Pho is a huge bowl of sweet beef broth with your choice of fillings, and they have other specials such as tenderloin tips with yellow rice, tomatoes, lettuce and more---the waiter helped me with suggestions on how to eat this yummy dish (he suggested stirring it up together and slurping it down!) I usually get the Pho, but the specials are wonderful as well. Usually lots of Vietnamese folk slurping their Pho loudly, which is a good sign for good food.....

Favorite Dish: Pho with rare beef

    The Melting Pot: Fondue chain

by dustmon Written Jun 10, 2010

This is a chain location for fondue, where you dip bread, veggies and apples into a bubbling pot of melted cheese, wine, and other goodies with long forks. They have 4-5 different versions of this, and then there is the hot oil fondue, where you dip beef, chicken, shrimp, salmon into hot oil to cook briefly, served with salad and fresh veggies, which you can also cook in the broth/oil. They have a selection of large salads as well for those who do not want fondue, a full bar, and then for dessert they have a chocolate fondue, with fruit to dip (MMMMM).
    Sun-Thur 4-10
    Fri and Sat 4-11

Sweet Tomatoes is a chain buffet that I have tried at lunch---they sometimes have coupons for about $7 for an all you can eat buffet lunch including salad stuff, soups, potatoes, muffins, desserts, drinks, pastas and more than you can imagine. If this is your thing, this is a good choice, and family friendly!

    Hooters: Wings and Burgers

by dustmon Written Jul 27, 2010

Really good wings if you get them naked, not breaded, and the burgers are great if you order them medium rare and get the onion rings instead of fries. The TV's are on the channels you want, and the staff wants to please....Good beers available in Duluth...

    Applebees: bar food

by dustmon Written Jul 28, 2010

My opinion is that places like Applebees are for large groups who want to drink alot, or families who think this is a good night out. The food is OK and the prices are OK but it's loud and frantic at times....Just don't call me an old fogie.

    Melting Pot: fondue?

by dustmon Written Jul 28, 2010

Melting Pot has fondue---bubbling pots of cheese to dip bread and fruit into, and oil to dip meats, shrimps, chicken and veggies into until done....good salads and also chocolate fondue for dessert---dip fruit into melted chocolate! How bad can that be?
The prices are a little high, but this is a great romantic place for 2.
