    folkston has a small downtown area with a number of shops and restaurants. the main attraction of folkston is the nearby okefenokee swamp national wildlfe refuge. see their website for more information.

    the charlton county courthouse was built in 1928 in the neoclassical/georgian revival style. the architect of the courthouse was roy benjamin. the charlton county courthouse is an interesting example of early 20th century architecture.

    when passing through folkston i highly recommend the okefenokee restaurant. good southern food, ie. fried chicken, cornbread. biscuits and gravy etc. very good food moderately priced. the all you can eat lunch buffet was great and priced under $10.
