    Another big attraction to the park is the 8700 acre Lake Blackshear which offers a variety of water related recreation to include: boating, fishing, and swimming. It is also relaxing to just sit and look at the water and listen to the sounds of the lake.

    Just down the road from the Visitors Center/Veterans Museum is a Monument to those who have served and died for their country.

    The SAM Short Line train runs through the park on its Cordele to Plains run. Enjoy a nostalgic trip in the 1949 railroad cars. Attractions accessible by taking the train include: Historic sites, museums, the habitat for humanity, and the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site.
