The Shopping Center is simply that - a mini-version of a strip mall on Jekyll Island. All the shops are over-priced and small.
Except for fish bait or renting fishing gear, avoid the center. Go off the island to Hwy 17 to Brunswick - and then avoid the Winn Dixie grocery that is 1 mile across the Lanier Bridge - same thing - over priced.
Go into Brunswick...anyone can tell you how to get to the Wal Mart Super Center...and if they don't have what you need - you don't need it that bad! THey even have "Jekyll Island Souveniers" at the Wal Mart!
In the Historical District there is a Christmas shop - I buy 1 new ornament a year from there to commemorate that specific trip....there is also a jewlery store in the historical district where my hubby will buy me some little trinket each year. Those are our own little traditions. And after 15 years of vacationing on Jekyll - you'll find your own traditions too!
At the shopping center you'll pay 2-3 times more than at Wal Mart. Theme: OtherAddress: Beachview Dr - main drag
