Black Beards is OK...not great - just OK...it is a big fancy looking restaurant on the beach side of Beachview Rd and you'll think, "we should go there for dinner"...no - you shouldn't. It's over-priced and just average for food (and rather slow service!)
Unique Suggestions: If you HAVE to try it - eat outside on the patio so that you can watch the shrimp boats and children play on the beach while you dine. OH - and go for an early dinner...the service gets SLOWER the closer to closing!
Fun Alternatives: JINRIGHTS...it is a seafood place on Route 17 on the mainland that serves local seafood and gator tail. Service is still a bit slow - but the food is SO MUCH BETTER! This is also more casual than Black Beards and family friendly. About the same price range.

This family-type local eatery is directly across from the Conference Center. It's very convenient, but don't fall into this tourist trap!!! Overpriced, bland food mixed with apathetic employees don't make for a good experience at all. We wasted 2 hours and $100 there. What a huge disappointment. A pitiful ending to an otherwise delightful vacation!
Fun Alternatives: Latitude 31 and a carriage ride through the Historic District!!!
