Good chips and salsa, a really nice special blend margarita 1/2 pitcher, and some really good chicken mole made for a nice lunch after gazing at diamond rings next door at Harold's Pawn shop.
Nice big wraparound porch and friendly staff---good prices for lunch specials.....
Near the thrift store..
Favorite Dish: chicken mole
Just opened, they have a free car wash day saturdays--bring your car and get it washed by bikini'd babes while chowing down on wings, burgers and other bar food staples washed down by cold brewskis.....Right below a huge liquor store, so they'll never run out!
This has closed----12-12
The famous burger/diner joint has a location in Kennessaw that is just as good (food wise!) as the Downtown Atlanta or the Athens locations! Chili steaks, nekkid dogs, FO's,rings and fries, peach pies----all the regular goodies from the original are here behind the Town Center Mall in Kennessaw. Their pimiento cheese is real good too!
Favorite Dish: Chili cheese burger w/pimiento cheese and an FO (frosted orange drink)
I love a deli that has a cuban sandwich, and Dagwood's is great! 6 inch or 12 inch pressed sandwich with chicken, ham, pickle, sauce, and other goodies that go into a great cuban....of course they have other deli favorites....
they have a card for multi-users that gets a free sandwich after so many purchases...
Favorite Dish: cuban sandwich
They have a good pork sandwich for lunch and lots of good sweet things, too like pie slices and puddings. Out of the way in the corner of a strip shopping center, a good find for some southern flavour! They make a great fried pig skin, but watch out they don't break your tooth!
This location is now closed-------January 2011
I have gotten this to go and had success with good fresh tasting chinese food---the black bean sauce on the shrimp dish was amazing and one of my faves, egg foo yung, was really fresh tasting as well......
12-10 every day
Big place on the ring road around Town Center Mall, so accessable to anyone....sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese goodies available here...private rooms as well if needed.
Good Japanese food in a good setting---
Malaysian cooking at its best----I knew this food from it's midtown Atlanta location----very nice and spicy but in a natural way---not so hot---
give this a try when in the area, you won't be disappointed...curries are a speciality with red one of my favorites.....
Favorite Dish: red curry shrimp
Fuddruckers is a burger chain with better than normal burgers---cooked the way you want them, they also have ostrich---bakery on premises , so fresh rolls for the burgers---lots of free additions after you get your burger so go without any, and pile them on at the free table.....
HBH is best known for the place tons of folk get their holiday hams for Easter, and such, but they have a lunch special of a really good ham sandwich, chips and a drink for about $6 most days. Good sides you can buy and bring home, too like green bean casserole...
Favorite Dish: ham and swiss
A pretty good place for some gravy and spaghetti---- now open every day at 11:30---used to only open for dinner----lunch specials are the way to go here----a good value for the lire, capiche?
Favorite Dish: meatballs
A chain restaurant with a few locations around the Atlanta area---this one is near Town Center Mall and is a good place for families to try out some mild carribbean flavors like jerk chicken and pork, beef patties, and firecracker shrimp.
The only time I have really enjoyed myself at a Golden Corral ws when they used to be open for breakfast---a big whopping breakfast sort of makes sense if you are going to have a big day coming up, but the food during other meals is just not good enough (to me) to justify going here....overcooked veggies and meats, stale desserts, I guess the soft ice cream is good, but not reason for going in the first place.
Not sure if anyone remembers the Bill Cosby bit about recovering after tonsil removal surgery and lusting after ice cream as a reward....I love Ice Cream, and I would go here more often but it is a bit expensive----their product is good, just a little overpriced. This is for a special occasion or a reward after a specially good meal with your well behaved family!
Ted Turner owns a bunch of Bison farms/ranches in Montana and has found a great way to increase his $$$$ by having restaurants serving his meat every day! Bison is leaner than beef and needs to NOT be overcooked or it can turn dry and mealy----ask for medium rare for the burger or the steak here and you wont be disappointed! They have fresh homemade pickles on the table, and the bar has good stuff all around including local brews when available.
Favorite Dish: rare bison burger
