The famous burger/diner joint has a location in Kennessaw that is just as good (food wise!) as the Downtown Atlanta or the Athens locations! Chili steaks, nekkid dogs, FO's,rings and fries, peach pies----all the regular goodies from the original are here behind the Town Center Mall in Kennessaw. Their pimiento cheese is real good too!
Favorite Dish: Chili cheese burger w/pimiento cheese and an FO (frosted orange drink)
Bugaboo, in spite of the kitschy name, is a good place for an evening meal, including the house encrusted prime rib, fried shrimp, and other steakhouse goodies in a friendly atmosphere. In the Town Center area, so if you are shopping at the mall or just in the mood for a steak, check this place out...
Chicago style dogs seem to consist of a poppyseed bun with a dog and---
mustard, relish, onions, tomatoes, pickle, sport peppers, and celery salt....
There are lots of other options, sodas and such as well.....
They have a good pork sandwich for lunch and lots of good sweet things, too like pie slices and puddings. Out of the way in the corner of a strip shopping center, a good find for some southern flavour! They make a great fried pig skin, but watch out they don't break your tooth!
This location is now closed-------January 2011
From edemame to sashimi to calamari to hand rolled sushi for appetizers, to
special dinners, seafood dinners, and other japanese goodies off the menu---
They have special sake tastings occasionally---check their website for details....
I love a deli that has a cuban sandwich, and Dagwood's is great! 6 inch or 12 inch pressed sandwich with chicken, ham, pickle, sauce, and other goodies that go into a great cuban....of course they have other deli favorites....
they have a card for multi-users that gets a free sandwich after so many purchases...
Favorite Dish: cuban sandwich
This place has really physical games and stuff for kids, almost an indoor playground. mostly for the younger folk, also with pizza and such to eat. Sounds revolting, but I am sure this place has been a haven for some parents in the area, and visitors with kids that need some activity might benefit from Chucky's Place! Near the Town Center Mall-----
Open from 9 AM til at least 10PM every day....
A chicken chain of reknown, they have good chicken fingers, good wings in several flavors (my faves are hot honey mustard and hot) good onion rings and good unsweet tea.
sometimes they have specials so look at the sign when you pull in, and maybe get a deal....
Favorite Dish: hot honey mustard wings
Typical American fare including fried green tomatoes, garlic crab fingers, cobb county salad, sauteed trout, ribs, lamb, duck---this place has it all----give it a try---open 11 AM to 9PM every day....at the intersection of E/W Connector and Old 41...
Favorite Dish: crispy duck
This place has everything on its menu....everything! Ribs, burgers, salads, fish, steaks, sandwiches, pastas, and a kids menu as well. Grande Margaritas are the special drink of the house. Open 11-10PM daily and fridays and saturdays until 11PM.
Favorite Dish: ribs
They have a great weekday lunch special for $5.99 you get a sandwich, fish/n/chips, wings, chicken fingers, big salad, cheesesteak, pizza, burger, quesadilla or soup and salad....what a deal, some served with fries or chips as well. This place is owned by the Fox and Hounds Pub crew which I have enjoyed many times in the past, and the bar at Bailey's is fantastic as well.
Favorite Dish: fresh beer
Fondue is the food where you put things on the ends of forks and put them into either oil or cheese sauce or chocolate and you can do all of that at The Melting Pot. You can get a salad before, and then move on into the cheese course with bread and veggies dipped into wine/cheese bubbling over a flame in the middle of your table...then onto the main part with beef, chicken or shrimp dipped into hot oil until your desired doneness, then carefully into your mouth! They also have a chocolate fondue for dessert with fruit and ladyfingers for dipping.
A great place for young folk, and daters.
Favorite Dish: chocolate fondue
Ted Turner owns a bunch of Bison farms/ranches in Montana and has found a great way to increase his $$$$ by having restaurants serving his meat every day! Bison is leaner than beef and needs to NOT be overcooked or it can turn dry and mealy----ask for medium rare for the burger or the steak here and you wont be disappointed! They have fresh homemade pickles on the table, and the bar has good stuff all around including local brews when available.
Favorite Dish: rare bison burger
Not sure if anyone remembers the Bill Cosby bit about recovering after tonsil removal surgery and lusting after ice cream as a reward....I love Ice Cream, and I would go here more often but it is a bit expensive----their product is good, just a little overpriced. This is for a special occasion or a reward after a specially good meal with your well behaved family!
The only time I have really enjoyed myself at a Golden Corral ws when they used to be open for breakfast---a big whopping breakfast sort of makes sense if you are going to have a big day coming up, but the food during other meals is just not good enough (to me) to justify going here....overcooked veggies and meats, stale desserts, I guess the soft ice cream is good, but not reason for going in the first place.
