on the west side of pigeon mountain the forces of union general james negley met the confederate forces of general patrick cleburne at mclemores cove. after a brief skirmish negley's troops retreated west to join the forces of general george thomas. this skirmish prevented the union from crossing pigeon mountain and attacking lafayette. on GA 193 there is small parking lot with a historical marker over looking the battle site.

DON LOLO'S: Authentic Mexican Cuisine

Excellent, quality, average price, authentic mexican cuisine, served by authentic mexicans. A medium sized family style restaurant. Sit and be served style dine-in, with mexican ambience. The people are friendly, the staff, is mixed with all races, to accommocate all customers. I eat here about once each month, and i like very much. so i reccommend this restaurant with three stars. Three because of its size, and it's regional location.

Favorite Dish: Carne Asada ! The dish comes with three carne asada fajitas, or just a carne asada steak. The difference in carne Asada, and other steaks, is the seasoning and the cut. I reccommend this from experience, and find it to be deliciously well balanced dish. It comes with guacamole salad, refried beans, and fajita salsa. A blend of tomatoes lettuce onion and mild pepper, all diced to a chunky texture. Of course there is the traditional red salsa, (salsa tomate), and the nacho chips, for an appetizer. I reccommend the Sweet tea (Te Dulce)! It is very well made.
