Your basic local hispanic area (Windy Hill Rd) has tons of local hispanic restaurants, and El Taco Veloz has been around for many years with good tacos, chili rellenos, tortes and more. Mostly a drive through, I think there are a few tables inside.
Favorite Dish: tacos con carne y queso, frijoles y salsa, y arroz.
This ChickFilA is right near I75 at Windy Hill and good to get b-fast before getting on the expressway in the morning. They have a really good roast coffee, and fairly good biscuit, I ask for mine to be well done, cause sometimes they under-do them. Of course they are famous for their chicken biscuit and sandwich which are good from time to time.
Favorite Dish: bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, well done, and a coffee
Good Irish food right off the Marietta Square---been here many times and enjoyed the Alton Brown's Corned Beef and Cabbage, Shepherds Pie and Lamb Stew with a Guiness to go along---soda bread and garlic mash complete the meal for me! They also have a full Irish breakfast on weekends and lots of other goodies---definitely recommended for a good time and good food!
Favorite Dish: Lamb Stew and a Guiness
DQ has food as well as ice cream, but the main reason you go to a DQ is the ice cream cone dipped in chocolate-----no doubt at all the best ice cream cone available anywhere, unless you are near a Zesto's
points given for the title info reference
I eat lunch here a bunch----they have a deal where you get half a sandwich and a cup of soup for about $6-7....They have sweet stuff as well from the bakery and coffees/drinks as well.
Favorite Dish: half and half with water
I really like this place---they have incredible sandwiches, cookies, soups and salads, and every one of the staff is really pretty! Try the gingersnap cookies, the cheesecakes, the mojo steak sandwich, and the toffee cookies, and oh yeah the blondies!
By the way---Theo is Vincent's brother, as in Van Gogh....
I like Ted's, a restaurant started by TBS's and former Atlanta Braves Owner Ted Turner featuring bison meat in steaks and burgers as well as the cow kind----a cedar plank salmon is offered for the non meat eaters---a full bar is there as well....homemade pickles on the table!
Favorite Dish: bison burger medium rare!
Taco Mac is a really good chain with good food and alot of beers on tap---their salsa is good and spicy, and the tacos are meaty and overflowing. This can be a sports bar, a family place, or a cultural visit....I really enjoy the times I have been to Taco Mac with my son and my friends......
Favorite Dish: tacos!
This is a typical chinese restaurant but with good food and they deliver within their area----all the regular dishes on their menu with some really good spicy garlic sauces included....
In a strip mall with a Publix.....
Favorite Dish: shrimp in spicy garlic sauce
Longhorn's is a chain that puts out a good product for a good price and is family friendly. The usual steaks, seafood, salads and sides are there in hefty portions. Try the housemade potato chips with dip.....MMMMM
Favorite Dish: chopped sirloin steak
Lots of wonderful Greek dishes at this Marietta Square spot----like shrimp cooked in feta cheese and tomato sauce, hand rolled fresh stuffed grape leaves, grilled marinated octopi,
fried fresh calamari, and those are just some of the appetizers!
There is a kids menu as well----you should try this place!
Favorite Dish: kebabs
This has, hands down, the best, crispiest skin, barbeque chicken in the world, with your choice of 3-4 sauces, but the original is the best. I eat there mostly at lunch for takeaway, and almost always get the chicken plate, for about $8, which is 1/2 a bird roasted nice on the pit with your choice of sauce on the side, and 2 sides---I always get the Brunswick Stew, and the BBQ beans, but the slaw and the onion rings are pretty good, too. If Joy is there you probably will get a hug---don't you take advantage of her, or I will come and get you! Anyways she got engaged not too long ago, so......
Great BBQ and great atmosphere----recommended highly.
Favorite Dish: chicken plate with stew and beans, original.
Some of what you can get here includes Humus, falafel, Lahmajun, gyros, Turkish Borek, Sish Kebob, Pirzola (lamb chops), and spicy Adana---lots of other goodies on the large menu---check out the website! Turkish coffee, one of my fave coffees, is wonderful here.
There is a Hookah bar open now inside--(I have not seen this!)
Favorite Dish: Lamb
La Famiglia has all the best Italian dishes you love to mangia! From clams, pasta, seafood, chicken, VEAL (MMMMM), and a full bar. The chef is from Naples and you can tell he knows his stuff! The stuffed, baked pastas are incredible!

Favorite Dish: Veal with Shrimp and lemon
Hemingways has been in the Marietta Square since 1993 serving classic burgers, seafood baskets, sandwiches, salads and soups in a great space. The bar is well known for its signature drinks, and the beer and wine selection is perfect.
Mondays thru fridays, there is a special, with any drink purchase, you can get a $5 lunch which includes a burger or sandwich, salad or soup, with fries, slaw, or chips---a great deal!
