located on the grounds of the berrien county courthouse is the confederate civil war memorial. this memorial is very unique in that it is not a standing solder, a draped obelisk, or a plain obelisk. this memorial looks like it was made in the late 20 th century.
located between lennox and nashville is the new river holiness church. the members of this church practice snake handling. during the service members handle venomous snakes to prove their faith. their belief is that if their faith in God is strong enough the snakes will not bite them. another interesting aspect of rural southern culture.
