Georgia What to Pack

  • Comfortable Clothes

    Atlanta What to Pack

During my trip this year, the temperature remained in the 70s, although this seemed a little warm than I would expect for Atlanta at this time of year. I would probably recommend bringing warmer clothes for November in case, as it could get much colder during this time.

  • Comfortable Shoes

    Atlanta What to Pack

A sturdy pair of walking shoes if you want to get the fell of the city by walking around. People come to Atlanta through out the year. You can choose to coincide your visit with one of the many special festivals held here-the breathtaking Atlanta Festival of trees celebtaring Christmas season in early December or the spring time Atlanta...

    Atlanta What to Pack

Between May and September, it can be stifling hot and muggy in Atlanta, so dress appropriately. In the Spring of 2004, Atlanta was deemed the worst city for allergy sufferers, so if pollen kicks your butt every spring, bring some medication. Bring your camera! There are plenty of great buildings and sights to take in.

  • maps and guides

We always pack away a stack of maps and guides on our extended trips. Of course, we have read through them before leaving but need to refer back to them during the trip so we take them along. Delorme has a nice set of guide books for each state with maps and places to see. Both Rand Mcnally and American Map make good maps with inserts for larger...

  • Packing List

Athens is warm in the summer (shorts and t-shirt weather) but can get very cool in the fall and winter requiring jackets and warm pants. don't forget your toothbrush unless your using a european camera (36mm) everything should be ok. 35mm is all that's sold here and I'm not sure if it will work or not. I know 36mm film works in a 35mm camera...

  • Packing List

Just pack for whatever adventure you are planning on. The lighter the better! Take enough clothes for hiking and exploring that won't hurt to get dirty. Also, older hiking or tennis shoes. Save nicer clothing for church and dining. Take band-aids, antiseptics, calomine lotion or spray, bug repellents, and anything else for your regular over-night...

  • Packing List

Umbrellas are good to have with you, because it rains often here. A good pair of tennis shoes for a lot of walking in the city or up and down the hills is recommended. Not-so-good tennis shoes are good for the occasional tubing or canoeing experience. A light sweater or jacket can be helpful on the cool summer nights, and a heavy jacket is...
