    by butterflykizzez04 Written May 15, 2014

Ringgold Gap Battlefield spot in Ringgold, Ga..its a nice little road side park with a few picnic tables but no grills..located on the side of the road. It is a nice location with some historic value and cost nothing..admission is FREE and a great place for a day trip memory..Tony and I stopped here on our Mother's Day trip on Sunday May 11, 2014

    Old Stone Church Museum

    by butterflykizzez04 Written May 11, 2014

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Sunday, May 11, 2014, Mother's Day, Tony and I was driving around the backroads from Red Clay Historic State Park in Cleveland, Tn via Cohutta, Ga towards Chickamauga Battlefield in Fort Ogletyhorpe, Ga.

This church was located on the side of the road and were amazed by its history and beauty. This church was built in 1830's before the Indians were removed in 1838...it was also used as a hospital during the Civil War and they said the blood stains can still be seen on the floor boards inside the church...amazing!!!

The church was closed today, but I am going back when it is opened.
It is Free to enjoy!!! So, I recommend you check it out also..it was located before Ringgold, Ga...so should be easy to find...

the catoosa county courthouse was built in 1939 in the colonial revival style. the courthouse was designed by architects crutchfield and law. the current courthouse is located on the site of the first catoosa courthouse built in 1856. the top floor of the old courthouse was a masonic hall and union masons that occupied ringgold during the civil war refused to burn it. the old courthouse and several other buildings in downtown ringgold served as confederate hospitals during the civil war.

    Rafael's Pizzeria: Portofino's Pizzeria

    by butterflykizzez04 Written May 11, 2014

Sunday, May 11th, Mother's Day..we were going to cookout at park somewhere today but it was so overcast that I was afraid we would get rained on. I wanted to go to the restaurant two doors down "Farm to Fork" but it was packed...standing room only and lined out the door..so we opted to try Rafael's...the sign outside said Portofino but the signs and menu inside said Rafael's...so not sure which it is..

    The prices are cheap.
We split a Chipotle Steak Sub with fries and garlic bread sticks with sauce..
Both was OKAY...but not the best ever eaten..I would NOT eat here again personally..but it is okay..just not to my tastebud liking..

The staff was very friendly and inviting.
The sweet iced tea was absolutely refreshing and tasted so good, we shared three refills...it was really good.
Not crazy about the sauce for the bread sticks and needed more garlic flavoring..I love mine to be overflowing with garlicy buttery sauce...

I was hungry and the prices were good..
The food was less than $10
    Great prices and Great Tea...

The food was well prepared, and plentiful. the prices were average. (about @10.00) Karaoke, and a bar.

Favorite Dish: I tried the Carne Asada dish. it comes with beans, and rice, and a small salad of tomatoes peppers and onions and lettuce. The tea was just right.
