SCAD is everywhere in Savannah. It is the Savannah College of Art and Design. Numerous buildings have been bought and restored by the school and you can see evidence of the art students everywhere. It reminded me of our own Rhode Island School of Design which is widely known. Art students create all sorts of interesting and beautiful things in their community and benefit the neighborhoods with color and imagination.
This lovely brownstone building is the welcome center as well as having a store where students sell their work. Scituated on Madison Square... it makes a wonderful neighborhood. I visited the Sorrell-Weed houe which is on the opposite side of the park.. as well as the Gryphon where I enjoyed an excellent lunch after my tour.
