    Stone Mountain State Park

by goingsolo Updated Apr 28, 2005

Favorite thing: There is a trail near Confederate Hall which leads to the top of Stone Mountain. The trail is easy to follow as there are yellow markings on the ground to giude you. Its a pretty easy walk with only a few steep areas. At the steepest point, handrails are provided to make it easier.

The sign gives you some general guidelines and information which is pretty basic. Bascially, wear closed shoes and watch out for lightning.

The best part about the walk is enjoying the views along the way and the great vantage point at the top. If you want to see some photos from the walk and the view of the North Georgia mountains, check out my travelogue.
