Walk up Stone Mountain
Its less than a mile to the top of the mountain and not a bad walk at all. Many locals come out here to jog the mountain for a bit of exercise, so that should give you an idea of the level of exertion required, For those that don't want to make the trip up, there is an aerial tram which runs from the park to the top of the mountain. Either way, make it to the top so that you can see the great views of the North Georgia mountains.
For some more pictures of the walk to the top, see my Stone Mountain travelogue.

A Really Cool Big Rock!
This is a great place to spend the day with the family. There's plenty to do.
Take the cable car to the top of the mountain and enjoy the great views of the Atlanta skyline and the park below. Shop in the specialty stores that sell things like old-fashioned candies, pottery, quilts, candles, and lots more. Take a cruise on a paddlewheel riverboat. Walk through the Old South plantation homes. Hike the nature trails. Stroll across a 100-year old covered bridge. Take a ride on the railroad. Watch the laser show against the mountain at night.
You can't possibily get bored here!
