While the guides like to get...
While the guides like to get real close to alligators, they know something you don't know: when they last got fed. Sure, they try to make sure that they don't have much interest in eating humans, but you never know...
Okefenokee Swamp Park
No Pets are allowed in this park. Alligators have a big appetite for small animals.
But my main warning is that the Okefenokee Swamp Park which is near Waycross is NOT the same as the National Wildlife Refuge of the same name. It is not even a State Park. There is no camping. There is a steam train tour
It is at the north end of the park just down US 1 and Georgia 177.

When we came, the water levels were too low for a boat tour, and there was no refund for low water levels
30 Minute Boat Tour - $16.00

The "Land of the Trembling Earth" is our longest tour available and best way to experience the "trembling earth." Only Available during peak water levels.
I was EXTREMELY disappointed in this park because the whole reason we had come to Waycross was because I wanted to go out in the swamp and see the wildlife and in order to do that we had to actually go to the Reserve, which was in another location.
