Leon Fulmer proudly shows off his homemade sauce by pchamlis First a note.....I realize that this tip is essentially a duplicate of one of my general tips. But, I really wanted to make sure people have the opportunity to try a taste of the old South in their own homes. One of the best things about Whigham and south Georgia has to be the barbecue. And, great southern barbecue requires great HOMEMADE sauces. The fellow on the left in the picture below is Leon Fulmer, and he markets several varieties of his own barbecue sauce. He will send it to your home, and I highly recommend that you give it a try. There are several different flavors, which Leon will describe when you e-mail him. But in my opinion, the best choice is the medium red sauce. It's spicy, but not flaming hot. It has a little sweetness to it, too. C'mon folks....if you've never tried real homemade southern barbecue sauce, get with Leon and check it out. You'll never be satisfied with the crap at the supermarket anymore. : ) CONTACT LEON IN THE FOLLOWING MANNERS... I have no financial stake in his venture, and was just meeting the man for the first time. I just thought he had a darned good product. : )
Barbecue Sauce. Leon has several kinds. Some are traditional red sauces, while others are mustard-based yellow. My favorite of his flavor is the medium red. Spicy, but not flaming. And it has a nice, sweet tang to it, too.
Leon was charging $3.95 per bottle at the Roundup. Inertia toys resting on a homemade quilt by pchamlis There are probably close to one hundred little vendor shops set up at the Roundup. There are all sorts of items for sale, including candles, t-shirts, food items, gadgets, art work, musical instruments, rattlesnake-themed items, leather goods, inexpensive and handmade jewelry, etc. You're not going to find anything of huge value at any of the vendors. But, the shopping is fun, and the people always like to just talk to visitors.
You definitely need to find something themed towards the Rattlesnake Roundup. But other than that, just find something that catches your eye.

Still or spinning? Who can tell? by pchamlis As mentioned in the earlier tip, there are all sorts of interesting and inexpensive items for sale at the Roundup. Some of the craft-type offerings are really pretty. In the photo below, check out the optical-illusion wooden wind mobiles. These are all one piece of wood, carved in such a way as to gently move in the breeze. But, the pattern on the mobiles make them appear, from a very short distance, to be spinning. Like I say, they're nothing important. But I thought they were pretty and interesting.
Whatever makes you happy or catches your eye.
