Petroglyphs are found in all the Hawaiian Islands and the big island is no exception. The latin name means "rock writing" or "rock art". There is a high concentration of rock art near Volcano National Park. In Kailua-Kona the art can be viewed on paths next to the "Kings Shops" (across from the Marriott Beach Waikoloa Resort). The paths wind through 2 acres of lava rock and petrogyphs. Tours are given weekly starting at the Kings Shops or you can wander on your own. No admission is charged.

*Photo of the monorail*
You need to spend a day here to just walk around and admire the surroundings. Visitors are welcome. Take a nap in one of the hammocks with tiki torches lit beside you, a bite to eat, visit the dolphins, flamingoes and parrots, and a boat or monorail ride.

Address: Waikoloa
When you walk along the shore, there is a chance you can find turtles swimming in the water. Some are trying to find some food from the walls.

Proof of being swept off of your feet while in Hawaii. An activity I highly recommend :)
Leaves you feeling aloof, tingly and warm.

Just a photo of hanging out in Waikoloa. Hanging out and relaxing is a past time I thoroughly enjoy when the scenery is beautiful.
