    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: The less, the better!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Good walking shoes or tennies. Skip on the rain gear if going to Kona Side. Bring it if going to Hilo Side. Bring Sweatshirt if going to Mauna kea or Mauna Loa or Volcanoes.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sunscreen, mossie spray, sunglasses

Photo Equipment: Digi camera, extra batteries and LARGE memory card. It's a Big Island, after all!

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Slippahs, lava lava's, towels, hats, snorkle gear.

    Don't Forget

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sunscreen is your #1 priority when visiting tropical islands! You will burn, and you will burn fast! Re-apply often, and don't forget those hard to reach areas...ears, behind the knees, and your head.

Photo Equipment: More film than you think you will need

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Swim suits and cool, loose clothing

Miscellaneous: Most of Hawaii is very casual, and hot. Pack appropriately for the warm temperatures. If you are are planning on attending a special event, or prefer fine dining restaurants, summer dresses or slacks would be appropriate.
