Pahoa is said to be the anthurium capital of the world. There are many nurseries in the area so watch for the signs.
You can also buy Noni and Kava, both are medicinal plants, grown on the island.

 kyoub Says:  Take an extra bag so you will have some place to pack all those souvenirs that you buy. Be sure to take a rain jacket because it is probably going to rain while you are there.It may be cooler than you think it is going to be also so check the weather forcast for that area....

Favorite thing: The town has wooden sidewalks like the wild west cowboy days. Pahoa town is about 1/2 mile long and has about ten restaurants. Eating is fun !!

Fondest memory: Trying to get a package from the post office ...
