Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Shorts, t-shirts, anything light and summery. flipflops are good, but don't call them 'flipflops' there because that's a tourist word. the locals call them 'slippers' and trust me, they look at you funny!

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: pack the sunscreen, and lots of it. i've been the victim of many lobster-red nights.
