    Bubba Burgers: Yummy Burgers

by SUSAMY Written Oct 28, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Good burgers - kind of a place you just have to stop at if your on Kauai.

Favorite Dish: Cheese burger & Frings. Yum! It seems that everywhere you go on this island, there's a restaraunt for burgers. Might as well go to one that has got personality!

Lighthouse Bistro: Great Breakfast Wraps - cheap and fast

by SUSAMY Updated Oct 28, 2003

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

On your way up to Ke'e beach - there is a quick & cheap place to grab breakfast. The restaurant is called Lighthouse Bistro, it's in the Kong Lung Center, which is very close to the Kilauea Lighthouse & Bird Sanctuary.

Favorite Dish: Breakfast wraps - they are fabulous. You can get it with meat or vegetarian, they are only a couple of dollars.

Brick Oven Pizza: Pizza is in paradise, too!

by slabeaume Written Apr 5, 2003

Ok, if you're not into pizza, don't fear---they have lots of sandwiches, desserts, salads, etc, too. Not only is the food great, but the ambience is neat, too. Definately not fancy, a place to go to right from the beach. While waiting for your pizza, gaze upon the hundreds of car liscense plates and funny paintings on the walls. If you get tired of looking at that stuff, watch the pizza maker tossing the pizza---or check out the wierd roots of the tree out back!

Favorite Dish: I LOVED the pizza! It's thick, with a butter garlic coating on the edges and a crunchy corn meal on the bottom. The toppings weren't bad either! We particularly liked the salami pizza. So much so, that we went back 3 times! But don't go on Mon., they're closed then.

    Tidepools: Great restaurant

by geekgrrl Updated Sep 6, 2002

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is a series of large open thatched huts sitting out over the salt water lagoon. There were many koi in the lagoon. We had a great dinner. I started off with an outstanding coconut lobster soup with a "Tahitian vanilla cream" floating on top. God, it was great!!! Bill had a salad that was okay. He had ahi and I had macadamia coated mahi mahi. With that we had some fresh Kauai corn on the cob that was so great it rivaled Indiana corn!! It was a lovely dinner.

Favorite Dish: outstanding coconut lobster soup

A nice reastaurant in idylic Hanalei on the north shore. Tables outside by the Hanalei river gives a nice setting for a good meal.

Favorite Dish: Their flash fired poke and ahi burger was great.

A local favorite! An unassuming roadside eatery in Waimea with a few picnic tables. Messy to eat but totally worth it.

if comparing to hong kong standard, not very good.
if comparing to hawaii standard, very good.

Ono Char Burgers: Burgers On The Go

The food was only OK. We had a hamburger. There were roosters everywhere - and they are more bold than most roosters on Kauai.
