 Honolua Store by annk
The Honolua Store was built in 1929 by pineapple plantation carpenters and was the gathering place for residents and workers. It provided supplies, news and labor union notices. It's historic building is listed on Kapalua's Heritage Walk.
It's a general store today selling groceries, gifts, clothing, breakfast and lunch. It became our daily hang-out for breakfast since our hotels restaurants were too expensive. My favorite was "The Hobo" which consisted of scrambled eggs, rice and crisp bacon for the price of $3.95. Many dishes have an Asian flare & include rice. Meals are take out and we enjoyed ours on the large wrap around porch set up with picnic tables and a view of the golfers and golf course.

This beach/bay has been rated #1 on a number of occasions. Definitely one of my favorites in the Hawaiian Islands & a popular location for weddings. Leave a Comment Directions: Lower Honoapiilani Rd inbetween Napili Kai Beach Resort and Kapalua Bay Hotel. The small public parking lot fills up early. Can also park along the road or try the beach late in the afternoon.

We only viewed from the road above but the reef was clearly visible. There were pods of dolphins swimming near the snorkelers - what an awsome sight!!!! Leave a Comment Directions: North of Kapalua off Route 30. Signs are posted and parking is available.

Kapalua Spa opened to much anticipation in July and already lives up to the hype about it being the best destination spa on Maui. It's truly beautiful, like an elegant beach house, overlooking Kapalua Bay. The huge building is mostly open-air and all components, from the movement studio, fitness center, beauty salon and relaxation lounges, have expansive ocean views. In the terraced garden, there are 10 island bungalows for massage and couples treatments - they all have calming water features and a few have stone soaking tubs for luxurious water therapy. The treatments focus around the sea with a variety of seaweed wraps and facials, marine pearls, sea shells, sea algae - they use all natural product lines and one or two were created in Hawai'i. The spa Juice Bar has fresh island juices and gourmet spa cuisine for breakfast and lunch. This place is really self-contained and even has a saline infinity-edge pool and rain showers in the garden lounges. The treatments are competitively priced.
