Keanae Things to Do
About 2.5 miles south of Keanae, is Upper Waikani Falls, also called 3 Bears Falls, because of it's 3 cascades. This is one of the most famous waterfalls in Maui, and is often pictured on the Road To Hana.
There is a nice stone bridge at the falls, and there is a place to pull over, so you can view the falls.

This church is a bit difficult to find, but if you do find it, it is quite an interesting one.
This unique looking church is located just off the Road To Hana in the tiny village of Wailua. In 1860, the local villagers wanted to built a church from lava, but needed a bonding agent. Although coral would serve, harvesting it from the ocean was difficult and time-consuming. Well, it turns out that nature did the work for them.
The gets its unusual name from a "miraculous" storm that in 1860, pitched up the coral of the building's construction on a nearby beach. Some of the pieces had to be retrieved by hand from the depths of the ocean. A further miracle helpfully lapped up the leftover coral, clearing the beach again. They than used the coral, to construct the church.
I guess you can call it, a peace of art.
There is also another church, but that one is more modern, and not as interesting.Related to:
