There are a lot of ice cream shops in Lahaina, but Lappert's is definitely the best. Their smooth, creamy ice cream comes in all sorts of Hawaiian-inspired flavors, including Kauai Pie (Kona coffee ice crea, with fresh coconut, fudge and macadamia nuts) and Coconut Macadamia Nut Fudge. They are really, really tasty!! You have your choice of cones, from the standard sugar cone to the more decadent waffle cone. I highly recommend stopping by Lappert's for a scoop or two! The Rusty Harpoon, Maui by Erin74 The Rusty Harpoon is a popular restaurant located in the Whaler's Village shopping district in Ka'anapali. This place gets major points for convenience. It's very close to all the hotels in Ka'anapali and the perfect place to grab a casual lunch while enjoying the beach and shopping in the area. The food is also tasty. They serve everything from freshly-caught fish to burgers and fries and great tropical drinks. The prices are fairly reasonable and the environment is welcoming.
The fish dishes are just wonderful. My favorite is the Trio of Fresh Fish (broiled and served with mashed potatoes and three sauces: Mango Beurre Blanc, Asian Beurre Blanc Sauce and Pineapple Papaya salsa). Leave a Comment

When you just cannot take shelling out another zillion dollars for dinnner, do I have the place for you!! This place will feed you and you're whole family for about 20 bucks. It's local, it's fried, it's teriyakied, it's katsued, it's huge portions. Ya walk in, order at the counter and wait a minute until they load you down with SOOOO much food. The combo plate with Kahlua Pork, Chicken Katsu and Chicken Teriyaki with rice and potato salad will keep you busy for an hour at just $8.50 The Kelbi ribs which were a special that night were $9.00. This is no frills, but it's clean, fun and mind boggeling. They also have loads of noodle soups. Everything is massive. I loved this place, but enjoy getting into a bathing suit too....
Ask them to recommend something. That 3 item combo plate is enough for two, but don't stop there! Eat like da locals do, bra. It's fun to get out of the "zone" every now and then. Nice ocean view. Beautiful Patio. Really friendly service. Yummy things on the menu that are not over the top in price. Something you need to know in Maui.
We had lunch of the Havana Pork Sandwich, which at 9 dollars was the tastiest deal we had in Wailea. The steak salad at 17 dollars was a bit pricey, but it was huge. Tenderloin steak Marinated in tamarind vinagrette topped with some potatoes and very good tomatoes on a bed of mixed greens with not a shred of iceberg lettuce in site. YUM! by Albernfrau Casual restaurant. Apparently this is where the celebrities eat but we didn?t see any. If you go to Charlie?s eat the Macadamia Nut Pancake with coconut syrup. No not pancakes plural, just eat ONE as they are the size of an entire plate and thick! My husband at the eggs benedict which was pricey but delicious. After getting totally stuffed you can head to nearby Baldwin Beach or start your Hana Highway drive or just check out the cool people and shops in Paia. Open 7am - 10pm

I stopped in to Bada Bing on a friends recommendation and wound up having dinner here three times in the two weeks I was on Maui. The food is wonderful and the staff is "uber-friendly". There's a small deck with good ambiance (tiki torches, etc) even though it looks onto the parking lot. Forget the low-carb diet and pig out on the garlic balls ("knots" i think they call them). mmmmmm! It's probably not what you think of eating when coming to Maui but it was one of my fav's.
The eggplant parm was to die for. My friend had a creamy sauce with seafood over pasta. Everything was wonderful and the portions left plenty for the next day's lunch. The Old Lahaina Luau on Maui is a special event. You are greeted with a fresh flower lei and shown to your seats. We decided to do the traditional mat seating, so we were on the floor near the stage. It did get a little uncomfortable after sitting for 2+ hours, but it was worth it. The food was buffet style, and to be honest, it wasn't great. However, we are very picky eaters, so don't take my opinion on the food. Others around us were really enjoying it. The surroundings, the performance, and the atmosphere were top notch! It was a special night.

Lahaina Fish Co. by Erin74 Lahaina Fish Co. is conveniently located on Front street, just a couple of blocks from the Banyan Tree. This place is upscale, but not quite as expensive as some of the surrounding restaurants. Ask for a table on the ocean and you'll have an excellent view of Lahaina Harbor.
I really recommend the Chicken Caesar salad here. The chicken is lightly marinated in teriyaki sauce and pineapple is added to the salad, which creates a little twist on the traditional Caesar salad. It is very good. You really can't go wrong with the fresh fish here. It's all good. We ordered an onaga special, served with mashed potatoes. Delicious! Fred's Mexican Restaurant - Kihei by Albernfrau Fred's is a Mexican restaurant in Kihei. They serve the cheapest breakfast in Maui - $1.99 the catch is you have to eat between 7 am and 7:30 am. Others claim their Mexican food is the best around. The restaurant is funky and there are quite a few tables on a wraparound patio.
The cheap breakfast of course - $1.99 gets you eggs, cubed potatoes and bacon. There are no substitutions and no toast. Fabulous "home cooked" meals served by the friendliest people. It is a small place where you order at the counter and then sit outside at tables along Kihei Road. It is great for people watching. Definitely casual and laidback. The chickens may be hovering around your table while you eat pecking at any crumbs you drop.
Breakfast plate. Others claim the breakfast burritos are incredible. Leave a Comment Theme: AmericanPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Kihei RoadDirections: Directly across from Kamaole Beach I.
