    Molokai Style

Luggage and bags: basic roller board or duffle bags

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Casual. The standard dress is t-shirts, shorts, and rubber slippers. The Resorts are a bit more dressy for dinner but casual wear is more than acceptable everywhere else. In the winter bring a light jacket or sweater since it does go down to the mid 60's and 70's at night.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: The big shopping day here is Thursdays. It's usually when the Barge from Oahu comes in and when the island of Molokai starts running low on supplies!! It's also a very social day when most of the islanders come out from as far as the "east end" of the island all the way from Maunaloa town to gather, "talk story" and just have a genuinely good time. Shopping here can be very expensive because of this, importing of supplies to the island. Do bring your own medication. The island does have a pharmacy/drug store in town. If you don't mind paying a little extra, your toiletries can be bought here.

Photo Equipment: definitely camera film is very expensive to buy and develop. Batteries are the same. Bring supplies from home. Also bring an underwater camera as they are expensive too.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: there is tent camping at the beaches. You will have to watch for signs stating so. Please leave the areas just as you did when you entered. Some of the beaches require permission to enter. check with your local library or police department on where to go or if permits are needed.

Miscellaneous: sunscreen, the sun is especially intense here. Sunglasses. Mosquito repellant needed minimumly. Only if your going hiking up in the valleys. The heat here is very dry.
