There are 5 flights a day from Oahu via Aloha and Hawaiian and twice a day ferry service from Lahina, Maui. I love the airport in Molokai - no long walks. Walk down the airplane's stairs and you're there! The ferry from Lahina runs twice a day - early in the morning and about 6:00PM. Many residents of Molokai commute to Maui daily for work. On an island without taxis and public transport renting a car is indispensable, even though bicycles could come in handy, as well. But even by car many parts of the islands, esp. the tropical north-east, are inaccessible, so in order to explore this region you have to hike or rent a boat. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

Renting a car makes sense on Molokai since everything is so expansive and quite a ways to get to. There are no local bus, taxi or shuttle services. The Molokai airport is very small and the rental counters are visible in the baggage claim area. Budget and Dollar the big names in car rental there. Island Kine rental is in Kaunakakai town. Inquire if they will still come out to the airport to meet your flight and show you around. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor HomePhone: 866.527.7368Website: http://www.molokai-car-rental.com/

The only way to travel around Molokai is by car! Rent a car and drive around, it's pretty easy as there are only 3 main roads. Even I didn't get lost (which is amazing, trust me). When you go to the East side of the island, wave to all the cars you pass, there won't be that many. The roads get very narrow there , so slow down and take care!
