Honolulu Marathon, Oahu
Favorite thing: It's fantastic, it's early (very early), and has thousands of runners and spectators to make the run bearable. This race attracts over 25,000 runners every year, and many of them come from Japan. I ran this race twice, and was 56th my first year. 2 hours 42 minutes was my best, and I actually placed as top military in 97. Tough to do since there are at least five military bases on Oahu. I love this race, and even though it starts at 5a.m. it's worth a try. There are also many runners who run for Leukemia, and this is a wonderful cause.
