    This is absolutely the best snorkeling spot you can find on Oahu.
    You have to pay $5 tfor the entrance.
    Then you have to watch a video, lenght 15 min.
    The beach is no smoking.
    Did you know that the cigarette butts kill baby sea turtle?
    And do you know how to see if a Turtle is male or female? Write me :-)

    The Toilet Bowl is a big natural pool in lava rock, which is connected to the ocean by an underwater channel that allows water to surge into the "bowl" from beneath and then flush back out . You can go into the Toilet Bowl and get flushed up and down as water comes in and goes out. The rise and drop can be up to 4 or 5 feet in just a few seconds, which is quite a spectacle to behold but even more fun to experience.

    There's nothing more enjoyable at Hanauma Bay than getting flushed in the Toilet Bowl! You'll want to do it again and again at this "must see" destination in Hawaii.
    If you are renting a car then try to get there as early as possible because the parking lot fills up with snorkelers.
    The #22 bus from Waikiki is a more convenient option for transportation to Hanauma Bay.

    There are so many things to see in Hawaii but make sure to include going to the Polynesian Center. It's not a complete vacation if you didn't go! It's like going to Seattle without going to the Space Needle. Or visiting New York without going to the Empire State Building.

    The Polynesian Cultural Center has the largest evening show. And, it has seven villages to visit. When we took the canoe ride, we visited seven villages: Hawaii, Tahiti, Tonga, Samoa, New Zealand, Fiji and Marquesas. We also watched the Samoans at the Samoan village husk a coconut and make fire! At the end of our canoe ride, we watched the "Coral Reef" Imax movie and watched the evening show.

    This is a must see in Hawaii.

    Check the inside of the Iolani Palace and learn how the old monarch rule Hawaii! It is very impressive how the state of Hawaii preserved the palace! Even the furnitures that the King and Queen used were preserved well.

    We were told by the guide that most of the furnitures were recovered- the desks, rocking chairs, dinner wares, etc.

    The stairway to the ballroom is amazingly well-maintained! The wooden floors are shiny and well-polished.

    Every tourist that go inside the palace are not allowed to drink or eat or even chew bubble gum. The palace staff requires every visitor to remove their shoes and put on shoe cover to protect the floors from being scratched!!!

    The entrance fee is $16.00.

    I went snorkelling at Hanauma Bay in 1990, 2001 and 2002 and 2007.

    Snorkelling at Hanauma Bay is very nice. The only problem now over there is it gets very, very crowded and touristsy!

    In the early 1990s, I saw a lot of fish and sometimes turtles. It used to be that you can feed the fish. You can bring some food and feed the turtles. That was then. Now, you can't do this anymore.

    You really have to swim far away from the shore to get a peak of a fish! Yes, that's right. A fish! No more school of fish!

    Just swimming at the Hanauma Bay is nice. Or just lay down on the sand and get tanned!

    The rent of goggles, fins and snorkelling gears are kind of expensive. The last time I was there was $16.00. My family brought our own snorkelling paraphernalia that we bought for $29.00 at Costco.com

    The beach is beautiful and safe for children to swim. It has a picnic area where local residents barbecue and take their families for a weekend vacation! The picnic area is green with coconut trees around. It has picnic tables and chairs for sitting. It is a very clean and very safe place for children!

    This was a great place to go on a sunny day... The water was clear and fragrant and warm. Generally the bay is closed on the first Tuesday of every month due to jellyfish, though. All in all a great place for a daytrip when the weather is good!
