This is the Tour that Lori & I took from our Hotel in Waikiki.
There is always some additional cost , like transportation from your Hotel to the bus that you take on the tour.Always read the fine print
In this case I believe the tour ended op less then $20 U.S per person
It was worth every penny , it was a great tour.
THE BEAUTY OF THE CLEAR SKY..THE JOY OF RAINBOWS AFTER IT RAINS ARE A FEW OF THE WONDERFUL THINGS TO LOOK AT AND MARVEL AT WHILE BEING HERE IN HONOLULU..PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED..BUT JUST BE AWARE OF SO MUCH TO BE APPRECIATED!!!!!!
Fondest memory: BEAUTY ALL AROUND !!!!
IT IS A LOT SAFER THAN JAKARTA !! : )
IT DOES HAVE IT'S PROBLEMS OF SOME OF THE LOCALS GIVING TOURISTS A ROUGH TIME..ESPECIALLY AT THE CLUBS EARLY IN THE MORNING..BUT LIKE ANYWHERE. .JUST STAY AWAY FROM THE TROUBLE AREAS
Favorite thing: While you are driving around the island you are bound to see a number of fresh fruit stands. You absolutely have to stop at one of them. Pick up some Pineapples, Mangos, whatever they got and eat it. Its some good stuff!!! You might even be able to get yourself a crazy hat!! I dont remember exactly where this one was located, but im sure you wont have any problem finding one....
It's no SECRET that it's expensive in Hawaii. After all, tourism is our main industry. If you plan well, you'll enjoy your visit no matter what your budget is. I highly recommend a drive around the island. I love taking a drive around the whole island, and stopping off at one beach for lunch, then stopping off at another beach to take in a sunset toward the end of the day. I NEVER get tired of looking at the scenery here on the islands.
Fondest memory: Not ALL the island folk are friendly and not all places on the island are plush green with tropical foliage. But with the right attitude, it will be what you make it! When I'm away, I miss island hospitality, flowers & plants, rainbows and sunsets, the sounds of the waves crashing near the shore, and all the smells I so fondly associate with our islands.
See the whole island! There are many island tours. We had a great guide. It is such a beautiful place, and different all over the island. To just stay in Waikiki would mean you'd miss a lot of the beauty of Hawaii. Even car rentals aren't bad there, rent a car and see the island. The picture is a view of the road before it disappears into the tunnel through the mountain.
Fondest memory: Our first trip to Oahu was in 1998 and it was the first time we'd been in such a beautiful place---and our first trip without kids along. Everyone was very friendly. They really do make tourists feel welcome there. This is the first place I went snorkeling, and have been hooked on it every since (not that I get to go often, living in the mid-west!).
Definitely rent a convertible and drive around the whole island!! Look at the sky and what it is doing!! I bet I saw 50 rainbows while we were there!! Use sunscreen when you take the car out for sure (we saw quite a FEW burned individuals driving convertibles!!) and stop and enjoy the surroundings. Breathe in the wonderful smells and take in all the beautiful sights! Get up and see a sunrise one morning. The picture that I have attached to this site is a sunrise on Easter Morning 2001! It was a SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
Fondest memory: Meeting my husband at the airport and having him greet me with a flower lei! The airport is
open and is absolutely beautiful! Take in the smell of the leis as you pass the stands! I don't think I will ever forget what Plumeria smells like! ( and no, it doesn't smell anything like the stuff that Bath and Body Works tries to pass off as Plumeria!!!) Also Lanikai Beach is the most awesome beach around!! I am so glad that I took the advice of another member of this site, LanikaiBabe, to go and visit it!:) We are definitely hooked!! It is one of the best beaches on Oahu and certainly one of the calmest!:)
Take a trip around the island. There are so many nice places and beaches that it is hard to see it all.Highlights for me are Makapuu, hanauma bay and the Byodo-in Temple.
Fondest memory: Getting up very early and walking along waikiki beach when it is deserted.
You have to rent a car and drive around the whole island. Right behind us is Rabit Island (it looks like a rabbit with it's ears down)
Fondest memory: Driving to each of the beaches!!!
Favorite thing: take the Waikiki sightseeing trolley. Every hotel will have a map of tram stops and prices. The trolley will take you not only through Waikiki but also to Honolulu´s most interesting spots.
Rent a car and take a drive around the island. It's much to see like Sunset beach (see the photo). Here at Sunset beach each year the World Cup surfing competition is held.
Fondest memory: I miss Hawaii!!!!!!
Favorite thing: Rent a car and drive around the island Ohau. It's a great experince! There's much to see and many wounderful views and beaches.
