Favorite thing:
again fun to shop in hawaii due to it's sales tax of 4.71%, a way lower than the mainland sales taxes like 9.25% in california. lots of shopping opportunities here like shopping in the mile long touristy kalakua avenue, the largest outdoor mall in the mall, the ala moana center, the premium outlets of waikele, the International Market Place, the Waikiki Town Center, the hug Ward Centers of Victoria Ward and a lot more. you will see lots of japanese and south korean tourists taking advantage of the difference in price going to hawaii to shop ans since it is just a 7 hour plane ride from japan and 8 hour plane ride from south korea, is cheaper to go to than in the mainland.

Favorite thing: Go to a fabric shop! No, really! I mean, think about all those different Aloha Shirt / Muu Muu print choices. When you go to a fabric shop, you can see TONS of colors and patterns. At the very least, you can make your own Lava Lava (pareau!) This photo is taken at Fabric Mart located on Kalakaua Ave., near Waikiki and Daie!
Favorite thing:
Waikiki:
that's the tourist area. Wonderful ald lively place, with great shopping centres
(I recomend you the Royal Hawaian) and breathtaking beaches. By bus or by the
'reliable' (damn it!) waikiki trolley you can go to Ala Moana Shopping Centre:
it's a dream!!!!!!!!
Fondest memory:
I feel a little bit ashamed in saying it, but....the beautiful shopping centres such as Ala Moana!! Then sipping a fantastic cold cappuccino with wipped cream at Starbucks, getting lost due to that stupid Wakiki Trolley!! Staying at my cousin's place, eating the pumpkin pie, her wonderful family, never finding something not fat to eat, missing Italian food..LOL...Man,I loved there and would go visit again at any time :)))
Favorite thing: The Aloha Flea Market (go here first before you do your shopping in Hawaii). Many manufacturers and vendors who cannot afford to rent a space in Waikiki, sell their goods at the Aloha Flea Market. More importantly, they pass their savings on to you. The merchants set up tents in the parking stalls surrounding the Aloha Stadium. Don't forget to bargain! You should good walking shoes and bring sunscreen. Go early before it gets hot. The Aloha Flea Market is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Favorite thing:
The best place to get souviners is the Aloha Flea Market. It is held every Wed, Sat & Sun at Aloha Stadium between Pearl Harbor and Pearl City. Plan on spending the day.
Fondest memory:
My wedding was on the beach at sunset on a private beach on Barber's Naval Air Station.
Favorite thing: relax here with a coffee! Aloha Tower Mall may not be THE shopping mall (for shopping, find your way to the Ala Moana Shopping Centre), but the ocean view is good.
