Surfers bring in their boards, tourists gather along the shoreline and dinner boats cruise out towards the horizon, all to watch the sun set over Waikiki Beach.
Fondest memory: In the last couple of years, there have been free movies on the beach. Tourists from around the world can view movies on an outdoor 30 foot screen. This event in Waikiki is also called "Sunset on the Beach".
See as much of the Coast and Island as possible. I confess, Waikiki Beach gave me a real buzz also. I enjoyed spending time on the beach, after all, it is probably the most famous beach in the World ;-)
But what awaits beyond Honolulu, is even more beautiful, the rugged beaches, some quite isolated. It is here that you feel and inhale the real Hawaii.
The Arizona Memorial was great to visit, incredibly interesting.
Try to be there by 7am, or you will be queuing for hours ;-)
Fondest memory: I miss the wonderful friends I have made while visiting Oahu.
Also the lifestyle, the Music, the aroma of the flowers, the feel of the breeze in my hair, and ofcoarse the incredible Sunsets.
A taxi took us from the airport straight to our hotel in Waikiki. As I walked down to the beach, this was the first glimpse I got..... ooooooohhhhhh wow!
Waikiki beach is widest near the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel. You can rent sun chairs and umbrellas there, but they are quite expensive.
Favorite thing: Here's a view of Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. This just might be the most famous beach in the USA. There are lots of tourists, and from what I've heard, you're better off visiting some of the other islands for quieter beaches.
Stay on Waikiki Beach! Never a dull moment! I hope you can stay at least a week, there is so much shopping and entertainment for the whole family! But be sure to bring your $$$$, it is a bit expensive....but all worth it. You will never forget this place.
Fondest memory: I miss the sunsets, beautiful beaches and swaying palm trees with the sweet smell of coconut oil in the air. Everyone that comes here has a smile on their face and is having the time of their lives!
Lovely beach with a safe area if you are not into surfing.
This place was nothing like I expected it to be. I thought it would be packed with people and you wouldn't be able to find a spot to sit on the beach, but there was plenty of room. It may be different in the summer months.
As a general rule....as a single man, I wouldn't expect to hook up with too many Hawaiian women. Most of the women you'll probably talk to are other visitors like yourself. It's tough because most people come there as couples or families, so it's not a good spot for single men.
Fondest memory: Being able to walk around on the beaches at night without fear of any crime. These are some of the SAFEST beaches you will ever visit!
One of my favorite places on Oahu is Waikiki beach down near Queens beach. Soft Sand, quiet waves. A great place for some major relaxation and recharging. Just dont forget the sunscreen!
Fondest memory: The smell of the Air. When you step off of the plane and get that first full breath of the amazing perfumed air, you whole body responds. The ocean, the plumeria flowers, the rain.........your whole soul vibrates and sighs, yes this is the good stuff.
go out and about!! Walk around anytime of the day im sure you will meet
very interesting people people are very friendly and saw bare fit guys!!!!!!
Fondest memory: everyday that me and my sister was in Hawaii had a special and unforgettable memory that will never forget!!
The hot-spot in town is the main strip in Waikiki. Everyone goes there to meet new and interesting people. Holidays on the strip are the craziest and most awesome thing I have ever seen. All walks of life show up and parade themselves. What a curious bunch of people there are in the world.
Fondest memory: I never thought I would miss the warm weather-my biggest complaint when we moved to Hawaii was that I wouldn't see snow. Now I hate being cold. I have moved to the midwest and the summers have been mild and cool scince I have been back and I hate it. I want to lie on the beach and get hot and sweaty, only to jump into the crystal clear ocean water.
