The Honolulu Zoo is an inexpensive and fun outing for families. Children will enjoy seeing the elephants, crocodiles, exotic birds, Galapagos tortoises, and Komodo dragons. You can bring in a picnic lunch.

Open daily, except for Christmas Day, 9:00-4:30. General admission (13 years and older) - $12. Discounts for kama'aina with ID.

The Honolulu zoo was cute . It is not a free zoo , so be prepared to cough up that money. But why not , its going to the zoo to help rebuild, preserve, and feed the animals. The zoo is actually pretty big. Its a decent size ,but there arent that many animals , they are very spread apart. part of the zoo was being worked on , so you have to walk through a fenced area covered in this black outdoor fabric , which was rather ugly . I believe they were currently building a new area for some more animals to come in . Hopefully they will have it up and running soon . Also a few bridges to get to some exhibits were closed due to termit damage. Hopefully the money that they charged to get into this zoo will go towards fixing these peoblems. over all , the zoo was okay, i have seen much better zoo's in other states.

Right near the beach and the crater and within walking distance of some of the popular hotels. It is not one f the biggest zoo but it will keep you occupied. The children's petting zoo will keep the young and old occupied.
