Cafe Olive is an excellent dining experience this side of town! Primarily Italian cuisine, the entrees are delicately prepared and the menu items have much to offer. The atmosphere is quaint and the service is superb. Although alcoholic beverages are not sold here, this allows you to bring in own your favorite bottle of wine (free!) without having to pay the expensive corkage fees found in other establishments!
Favorite Dish: Shrimp, Scallops and Asparagus Linguine! Prepared to perfection in a delicate white limon sauce!

Shige's Saimin stand is a small, family owned business, and while you may seem to wait for ever for your order, service is good and friendly. This is a small restaurant, but not usually over crowded. Their front wall is posted with tons of photographs of locals on special occasions.
Favorite Dish: I love their saimin (oriental noodle soup), teriyaki burger and their macaroni salad is tasty.

At this juncture in your early visit to the Pineapple fields, it is too early for a full scale lunch. Why not try a nice Pineapple Sundae, smothered with any kind of syrup you want, coconut sprinkles go nice, swirl a little chocolate across the top.
A poof of whipped cream, double dose of crushed macadamia nuts, green maraschino cherry, and despite rumours to the contrary about gelato, Hawaii boasts one of the highest cream contents of ice cream throughout the United States.
Dole uses fresh pineapples for their sundaes.
Out this way, you will find little cafes and larger one's in Wahiawa if you want a more sumptuous lunch. Try a saimin stand, check out my other Honolulu page which will explain the delights which await you.

The Dole plantation is located near this city. It is a very big tourist place to visit. You can see the plantation fields with pineapples being grown.
