Take the bus, you don't have to pay for parking

The bus ... no parking fees!

It's very expensive to park in Waikiki. If you've rented a vehicle, be sure you check with your hotel for parking rates/validation. Taking the bus saves you on rental, gas and parking fees, though limits you to time schedules.

The best and the cheapest way to get around in Waikiki. TheBus stops att most of the attractions. The busfare is $2 for one way, you get one free transfer with each paid cash fare. You pay $2 to the bus driver.

There is also a 4 DAY PASS that is valid for unlimited busrides for 4 days and costs $20. You can buy the 4 day pass at following places.

    ABC STORES

The Bus, the Hilo Hattie or Taxi

by GracesTrips Updated Feb 17, 2010

The Hilo Hattie shuttle is free and makes certain stops all around Waikiki's shopping/beach areas. This is convenient if you didn't rent a car (that's another tip you should read!) The Bus is all over but I don't know the cost. You can easily hail a taxi (we did) and it was not all that expensive to get around (compared to riding a taxi in Greece - spent a fortune with that). If you plan a trip outside of Waikiki, I suggest renting a car for the day. It takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours to get to the North Shore depending on traffic and you can make the stop you want along the way. If you rent the car, return it because your hotel will charge you a steep fee to park it there!

    The Bus

I used TheBus a few times with a bunch of other friends of mine when we stayed in Waikiki. Its very useful and easy to use. If you are at least 19 years old, then it can only cost $1.00 per ride. If you ask for a transfer while heading to another attraction, you are able to hold that transfer for up to 2 hours. One thing I would definately like to put out there is that tourists and locals alike use this mode of transportation and it could smell.....

  • The bus

The bus is the best thing since bubble gum! Purchase a four day pass from the ABC store for $25 and you can travel and tour the ENTIRE island and ride it to the front door of the airport. Due to a cab being $30 a trip (if your lucky). The bus runs so often in all areas. There clean with friendly drivers that have major info on any thing you could think of plus the buses have air!

    Travel by TheBus!

    by Gloria381948 Written Jun 22, 2007

Thebus is the #1 public transportation around Waikiki. You can get bus passes for Thebus at any ABC store in Waikiki. They have a four day Discovery TheBus bus pass for $20.00. That beats paying 2.00 everytime you get on a TheBus!!
It is better and more convienent than renting a vehicle, or paying for a cab!
