Kenekes serves plate lunch, shave ice and ice cream. Its a bit run-down but the plate lunch and shave ice are worth stopping for. The distinctive red and white building is hard to miss as you drive through Waimanalo -- its right on the road near the east end of town.

With plate lunch you get your choice of meat, rice or french fries, macaroni salad or garden salad. Everyone in our party ordered the Kalua Pig and it was a big hit. Our friends liked it so much they returned for more a few days later.

There are about 20 flavors to choose from when you order a shave ice. You pick three flavors with your order. Its a large serving in a medium sized cup.

Be prepared to wait a while for your oder on summer weekends. This place is popular.

Favorite Dish: Kalua Pig plate lunch and the shave ice with the tangy flavors.
